Gift websites for Bangladesh work in one direction: people abroad sending cakes, flowers and packaged gifts to addresses inside Bangladesh. The reverse trip — getting an authentic Jamdani, a nakshi kantha, or your mother's favourite sweets from a Dhaka shop to an address in the UK or USA — needs someone physically here who can shop, pack for international transit, and handle the customs paperwork. Couriers only move boxes; they won't go to New Market and choose a saree. I shop personally, send you photos before shipping, and you approve everything first.

Some countries give genuine gifts a small allowance — the UK, for example, waives import VAT on gifts valued under £39 sent between private individuals — but above the allowance, normal import rules apply. The USA, EU, Canada and Australia each treat low-value parcels differently, and several rules changed in 2025–2026. I declare every parcel honestly with its real value and contents — and I'll estimate any likely charge for your destination before you pay, so the recipient never gets an unpleasant surprise at the door.
