Every Eid, the new panjabi, the saree for Ammu and the kids' outfits come from Dhaka — the Eid collections there have a cut, fabric and price that shops abroad rarely match. The hard part is timing: Dhaka's markets get packed in the last weeks of Ramadan, and couriers stop for the Eid holidays. Here is how I buy and ship Eid gifts to your family abroad, and when you need to order for Eid 2027.
Tell me who the gifts are for, their sizes and your budget. I shop the Eid collections in Dhaka, send you photos, and ship everything in one box with tracking — usually 3–7 working days after dispatch. For Eid-ul-Fitr 2027 (expected around 10 March), message me by early February. You pay only after approving an itemized quote. Request a free quote.
Eid dates depend on the moon, so they can move by a day. The current expected dates in Bangladesh are:
Work back from the date your family abroad celebrates — that can be a day different from Bangladesh. My honest planning calendar for Eid-ul-Fitr:
Bangladesh closes for several days around each Eid. Courier offices and customs work slowly or not at all, so a parcel handed over just before the holiday can sit until it ends. Plan for your parcel to leave Dhaka at least 7–10 days before Eid.
What I can't send: cash or "Eid salami" in the parcel, fresh sweets like roshogolla (they spoil), meat (no Qurbani meat by courier), and most perfumes and attar (couriers treat them as flammable). The full list is in what I can't ship and why.
Prices in Dhaka are a fraction of diaspora shop prices. As a rough guide: a simple cotton panjabi is about $12–25, a good Aarong or festive panjabi roughly $30–90, and a cotton Tant saree about $15–30. Clothing is light and folds flat, so express shipping for one or two pieces is usually around $40–65. A family box (several outfits together) costs more to ship than one piece, but far less than separate parcels.
Every quote is itemized — the real shop price, my flat $12 service fee, packing and the courier — before you pay anything. These are estimates; your quote gives the exact figure.
A gift is still checked by customs. The UK relieves import VAT on genuine person-to-person gifts under £39 (and charges duty only above £135); the USA ended its $800 duty-free rule in 2025, so small duty is now possible; Canada's threshold is very low (about CAD $20); the EU charges VAT from the first euro. I declare every parcel honestly with its real value — never as a fake low-value "gift" — and estimate any charge before you pay. Details by country: will you pay customs duty?
Send your request with the list of people, sizes or measurements, budget, the address abroad, and the date you need it. I reply within 24 hours with ideas and a quote. After you pay (PayPal, Wise, bKash or bank transfer), I buy everything, send photos for approval, add a card with your Eid message if you like, keep the invoice out of the box, and ship by DHL, FedEx or Aramex with tracking. It is expected around Wednesday 10 March 2027, or 11 March if the moon is not sighted. Eid-ul-Adha 2027 is expected around 17 May. Your family abroad may celebrate a day earlier or later, so plan for their date.
Four to five weeks before Eid is best. That gives time to shop the new collections, send you photos, and get the parcel out of Dhaka before the Eid holiday, when couriers slow down or stop. Three weeks is usually still fine; the last 10 to 12 days is risky.
Yes. Combining several outfits into one parcel is the cheapest way to ship, because you pay one courier charge instead of several. Send me each person's size or measurements and I will check every piece before packing.
No. I can't put cash in a courier parcel, and most perfumes and attar are treated as flammable by couriers. Clothes, books, handicrafts and sealed dry foods (where your country allows them) are fine.
It depends on the country and value. The UK relieves VAT on genuine gifts under £39, but the USA, Canada and the EU can charge on small parcels. I declare the real value honestly and estimate any charge before you pay.
