Jute — the "golden fibre" — is one of Bangladesh's oldest industries, and the country is one of the world's two biggest jute producers. Jute bags, rugs and baskets are strong, plastic-free and cheap here. I buy single pieces for you, or small bulk orders for your shop or brand.
For yourself: send photos or describe the bag, rug or decor you want — I'll find it in Dhaka and ship it with tracking. For your business: I handle small bulk orders of about 50–500 pieces, send samples first, and check quality before shipping. For larger volumes I can introduce you to manufacturers I've checked.
Jute is inexpensive in Bangladesh. As a rough guide: a simple jute tote is a few dollars, a good handmade bag with leather trim is more, small table mats cost a dollar or two each, and a medium braided rug is roughly $20–80 depending on size and weave. Prices change with quality and quantity, so I always confirm in your quote.
Shipping is the real cost. Bags are light, but rugs are bulky. One or two bags ship by express courier for about $40–60; a rug costs more because couriers charge by size as well as weight. I measure and weigh everything before quoting so you can decide if it's worth it.
Many small businesses abroad want jute bags with their own logo, or a few hundred rugs and baskets for a shop or online store, but are too small for big exporters. That is where I help:
Bulk shipments may need commercial paperwork and may pay import duty in your country. I'll explain the options (express courier vs air cargo) and costs honestly before you commit.
Finished jute products (bags, rugs, decor) are normally fine to import. Countries with strict biosecurity, such as Australia and New Zealand, may inspect natural-fibre items, so I make sure they are clean and declared correctly. For duty rules see customs duty on parcels from Bangladesh and your country guide: USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia or the Middle East.
