A Bangladeshi wedding abroad still needs Dhaka: the bridal Benarasi or Katan, the groom's sherwani, matching yellow-and-orange outfits for the holud, and gifts for the in-laws. Flying home just to shop is expensive, and ordering from photos online is a gamble for the most important outfit of someone's life. I do the wedding shopping in Dhaka with you on video, check every piece in my hands, and ship it all safely.
Tell me the wedding date, the events (holud, wedding, reception), who needs outfits, and your budget. I shop the bridal markets and showrooms, show you pieces live on a video call, buy only what you approve, arrange tailoring if needed, and ship everything with tracking. Start 8โ10 weeks before the wedding. Request a free quote.
For bridal pieces, photos are not enough. I go to the shops at a time that suits your time zone and show you the saree or sherwani on a WhatsApp video call โ the colour in daylight, the border, the back of the weave, the blouse piece. You decide; I buy only what you approve and send you the receipt. If a shop's price is unfair, I tell you and we look elsewhere.
If the wedding is near Eid, add extra time โ tailors in Dhaka stop taking new orders in the weeks before Eid, and couriers slow down during the Eid holidays.
Prices depend entirely on the pieces you choose. As a guide from my other pages: a bridal Katan or Benarasi can be several hundred dollars, and a heavily hand-embroidered wedding panjabi $100 or more. A wedding order is heavier than a single outfit, so shipping is quoted by weight โ for example, a 1 kg parcel by express is about $60โ70 to the USA, UK or EU and $70โ95 to Australia, and a full family box will be more. Your itemized quote shows every cost, including my service fee, before you pay. These are estimates; your quote gives the exact figure.
Couriers restrict high-value precious metals, and gold leaving Bangladesh is controlled. I can source fashion or imitation jewellery (non-gold) to match outfits, but gold jewellery should be carried by a family member who travels, following the customs rules of both countries. See what I can't ship and why.
A wedding box can have a high value, so customs charges are more likely than on a small gift. The UK charges duty above ยฃ135, the USA ended its $800 duty-free rule in 2025, Canada's threshold is about CAD $20, and the EU charges VAT from the first euro. I declare the real value honestly โ under-declaring a bridal saree risks seizure, which nobody can afford weeks before a wedding โ and I estimate the likely charge before you pay. Details: will you pay customs duty?
Yes. I go to the bridal shops and show you sarees live on a WhatsApp video call, so you see the colour, border and weave before deciding. I buy only what you approve, send the receipt, and ship it with tracking.
Start 8 to 10 weeks before the wedding. That leaves time for video shopping, tailoring blouses or sherwani alterations in Dhaka, shipping, and small local alterations after it arrives. Add extra time if the wedding is close to Eid.
Yes. Send me your measurements, or measure a sherwani or suit that fits you well. I work with tailors in Dhaka, check the finished piece against your numbers, and send photos before shipping.
No. Couriers restrict high-value precious metals and gold export from Bangladesh is controlled. I can source non-gold fashion jewellery, but gold should be carried by a travelling family member following both countries' customs rules.
A wedding box usually has a higher value, so charges are more likely. Rules differ by country: the UK charges duty above ยฃ135, the USA no longer has an $800 duty-free rule, and Canada and the EU tax small parcels. I declare honestly and estimate charges before you pay.
