The NovoPen 4 is a durable, mechanical insulin pen made by Novo Nordisk. You load a 3 mL Penfill cartridge, dial your dose from 1 to 60 units, and press the button. A click tells you the full dose has been delivered. It has no screen and no battery, which is exactly why many long-time users like it.
Novo Nordisk replaced it with the NovoPen 5 (which adds a simple memory function) and later pens. UK prescribing guidance said NovoPen 4 supplies would run out around September 2015. In Bangladesh, however, the NovoPen 4 is still sold by licensed pharmacies, so it can be bought here for customers who still use it.
The NovoPen 4 is designed for Novo Nordisk 3 mL Penfill cartridges (for example NovoRapid, Levemir or other Novo insulins sold as Penfill in your country). It is not designed for other companies' cartridges. Before ordering, please check with your pharmacist that the insulin you use comes as Penfill cartridges where you live.
In Dhaka pharmacies the NovoPen 4 usually sells for about ৳700 — roughly US$6 at October 2026 exchange rates. Pharmacy prices change, so I confirm the exact price on the day I buy. Compare all five pens I source in my reusable insulin pen comparison.
I buy the pen from a licensed pharmacy in Dhaka, in its sealed manufacturer box, and keep the receipt. Before I pay, I send you photos of the box, the batch number and the expiry or manufacturing date so you can check it. After you approve the quote, I pack the device in a padded box and ship it by express courier (usually DHL) with tracking. The receipt and a personal-use declaration go with the parcel to help with customs.
What it costs: you pay the Bangladesh pharmacy price, my service fee (from $15 per order) and the courier charge. A small device parcel by express courier usually costs about $40–65 to the USA, UK, Europe, Canada or Australia. That is why ordering two pens, or a pen plus needles, in one parcel is usually better value. Every line is shown in your quote before you pay anything. Payment is by PayPal, Wise, bKash or bank transfer.
About insulin itself: this page is about the pen device. Insulin cartridges are a prescription medicine that must stay cold, and many countries restrict importing them. If you also need cartridges, ask me first — I will tell you honestly whether cold-chain shipping to your country is practical, and I will say no if it is not safe.
